The trick is to go slow. Closer to the middle of the bridge, you can hold handrails on both sides of the bridge. From there, it gets easier. After the bridge (100m+- walking) you get to the Mountain hostel. It has a nice restaurant with a lovely patio. After the hostel we decided to walk back to Murren. It is a nice and easy walk with beautiful
Take the gondola cable way at the Lauterbrunnen train station and at the top, there is a train (the BLM) that takes you to Muerren about 2 miles away, then either walk down to Gimmelwald, or ride down on the Schilthorn cable car. If you have Half Fare Cards, you pay half price for these.
Hello everyone, I am doing a trip to Interlaken and will visit Lauterbrunnen as well and I am holding a Saver Day Pass. I have been reading this forum and am interested in doing the circuit route: Lauterbrunnen – cable car to Grütschalp – train to Mürren, then walk to take cable car from Murren to Gimmelwald – then cable car to Stechelberg – then bus to Lauterbrunnen – then train
There is a parking ramp in Lauterbrunnen. You can google it; looks like 53 francs for 4 days. Alternate is to keep driving past Lauterbrunnen (maybe 10 minutes) to Stechelberg and park in an outdoor lot at the base of the cable car - looks like 30 francs for 4 days, then take the cable car from there to Murren.
You want to research where you are going to get a better feel of the terrain and why you can’t park in Murren. It is about 2500ft vertically higher than Lauterbrunnen. So yes - you can walk. But that’s a very intensive hike.
The cheapest way to get from GrĂĽtschalp to MĂĽrren (Station) costs only SFr 15, and the quickest way takes just 18 mins. Find the travel option that best suits you.
Re: How to reach Mt. Schilthorn from lauterbrunnen. 10 years ago. Save. The BLM station is on the north end of Murren. You have to walk through the village to the south end to get to the Schilthornbahn station. It probably takes about 30 min from one to the other. The Schilthornbahn only runs twice an hour.
